Second, the children presented a beautiful prayer service for the First Graders. In the basket, the children placed items significant to popular saints. Here is what is in the basket at this time:
- A textbook in honor of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton who taught children about their faith.
- A prayerbook and rosary in honor of St. Teresa of Lisieux who lived a life of simple prayer.
- A hammer in honor of St. Joseph who worked hard as a carpenter to take care of his family.
Enjoy these pictures of the prayer service and the posters. Place your cursor on the bottom corner of the photo"book" and click to go to the next page.
Comment Question: Can you think of something to put in the basket in honor of a saint?

Mrs. Slaven says she would put a hand shovel and cross in the basket in honor of St. Helena who is the patron saint of archeologists. She is the founder of the true cross.
